A Legacy that Begins Before the Name

Before Adoria was created, there was already a way of working — defined not by storefronts, but by origin, access, and understanding.

Our story did not begin in retail. It began at the source, where gemstones are first brought into the world.

Built across generations and refined through decades of expertise, Adoria brings together a rare understanding of gemstones, craftsmanship, and modern jewellery — from mine to market.

A Legacy that Begins Before the Name

Before Adoria was created,

there was already a way of working - defined not by
storefronts, but by origin, access, and understanding

This is a legacy that did not begin in retail.
It began where gemstones are first brought into the world.

At The Origin of Value

Long before gemstones became objects of desire in showrooms,
they existed in their rawest, most uncertain form - uncut, ungraded, and unseen by the world.

This is where the foundation was built.

In 1956, Shiv Shankar Gupta stepped into the gemstone trade not as a participant in the market,
but at its very beginning.

Working directly at the source across key mining regions,
his approach was defined by proximity, not dependency.

Not through intermediaries. Not through assumption.
But through understanding, at origin.

Because true authority in jewellery does not come from selling,
It comes from knowing what something is worth before it becomes desirable.

The People Behind Our Success

Adi Gupta

Founder

Adi represents the third generation of a family whose expertise was built long before jewellery reached the showroom. Raised under the guidance of his grandfather, SS Gupta, he learnt the trade from its foundations - through sourcing, manufacturing, international exhibitions, and years spent understanding gemstones at every stage of their journey.

After establishing himself in Australia's jewellery industry, Adi founded Adoria to bring that lifetime of knowledge into a modern luxury house. Today, from Melbourne's Collins Street, he combines generations of expertise with contemporary design, transparent guidance, and an uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship - creating jewellery that is as intelligently made as it is beautifully worn.

Carson Wolf

General Manager

Creativity has been the constant throughout my career. Before joining Adoria Jewels, I worked across interior design, floristry, corporate fashion, and several prestigious high-end jewellery boutiques. Each chapter taught me something different, but they all shared the same foundation: thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, and creating memorable experiences for people. Whether designing interiors, arranging flowers, curating luxury fashion, or crafting fine jewellery, I have always been drawn to the beauty of detail and the emotional connection that great design creates. It was this passion that ultimately led me to the jewellery industry, where artistry, engineering, and sentiment come together unlike anywhere else. I often describe fine jewellery as miniature sculpture, where every curve, proportion, and detail has purpose, and every piece tells a unique story.

Today, as General Manager of Adoria Jewels, I have the privilege of leading a third-generation, mine-to-market Australian jeweller with a heritage spanning more than 75 years. My greatest passion is helping clients bring their dreams to life, transforming an idea, a sketch, or a cherished memory into a beautifully crafted piece that will be treasured for generations. I believe luxury should be personal, transparent, and centred around the client, combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative technology such as CAD design and advanced rendering to make the creative journey as exciting as the finished piece itself. My vision is for Adoria Jewels to continue setting the benchmark for bespoke jewellery, where extraordinary service, exceptional craftsmanship, and meaningful design come together to create not only beautiful jewellery, but lasting memories.

Building What The Market Did Not Yet Understand

Building What The Market Did Not Yet Understand

At a time when global gemstone processing lacked structure,
he established operations that brought precision, scale, and consistency into the craft.

This was not about participating in an existing system.
It was about shaping one.

Work that brought together artisans, processes, and infrastructure —
creating an environment where raw material could be transformed with intent.

What was built did not just support a business.
it quietly influenced how gemstones would be refined and brought into global markets.

From Access to Creation
Refined Across Generations
Carried Forward. Reimagined for Today.

From Access to Creation

Over time, that understanding evolved. From sourcing stones to shaping them. From supplying markets to creating for them.
Expertise in coloured gemstones expanded into diamonds, and craftsmanship moved closer to the final expression - fine jewellery.

The advantage deepened:

Not just knowing where something comes from, but knowing how it should exist.

Refined Across Generations

This was never a single chapter
Knowledge was carried forward, sharpened, and expanded,
across markets, across disciplines, across decades.
>What began with Shiv Shankar Gupta did not remain static.
It evolved.
Each generation added precision.
Expanded reach.
Refined execution.
What remained constant was the approach:
Understanding before transaction.
Control before scale.
Quality before commitment.

The advantage deepened:

Not just knowing where something comes from, but knowing how it should exist.

Carried Forward. Reimagined for Today.

For Adi, this legacy was not a story to inherit, it was a system to grow within. Trained through direct exposure to sourcing, craftsmanship, and global markets, his understanding was built from the inside, not acquired later.Under the guidance of what was built before him, he developed the ability to bridge origin with modern expectations.

Today, after 70 years in the trade, that depth is not presented as history.

It is applied. In how stones are selected. In how jewellery is designed. In how buyers are guided.

Where It All Converges

Adoria is not where the story begins.
It is where everything comes together.

Not as a narrative, but as an experience.

From mines to market.
From raw material to final form.

Every step is understood.
Every decision is informed.

What began at the source in 1956
now exists with clarity, precision, and intent - in one place.

Legacy, Without the Weight of the Past

Adoria does not ask you to buy into history.

It ensures you benefit from it.

Because when something is built at the source,
refined across generations,
and expressed with clarity today -
It no longer needs to be explained. It simply shows.

Adoria- once found, never forgotten!
